DreamNova's 'Spark of Brilliance'
DreamNova.com is now trying to cash in on the reputation of another website by registering the domain name roller-coaster.net.au. The astute ploy has been hailed as a "spark of brilliance" by site spokesman Kenny Tuner, who also told of plans to register the domains 'ozcoaster.com' and 'themeparkreview.net.au'.
"Our site currently is non-existent," Tuner said. "So we came up with the idea to leech off another site - you know, see if we can get more hits. It's not our fault if people can't distinguish between .net and .com"
Rumours are flying around the internet as to when DreamNova will actually (re)open, but the majority are of the belief that it will open when the Internet becomes part of our subconscious.
More updates on DreamNova's launch as they come (as long as this site still exists then).

This is pathetic. Seriously, another childish act by the owners of Dreamnova. Richard has built his sites repuatation from the ground up, and his content, expertise and amount of members will never be taken away by Dreamnova.

yeah that's true... richard did it first (and shouldnt have). buuut the difference is dreamnova sucks and has jack all members. rc has over 1000 (as i said in another post here). i dont think any are stupid enough to get confused though.
also i never saw the word "dreamnova" plastered all over rc like ben has done on dreamnova with the new roller-coaster.net.au domain.

i've never met either of them but i dont imagine many of you have either... seems crazy (and utterly pointless) to me to say that one is nicer than the other
i'm anything but a fanboy of either sites (i say 'sites' loosely because one of them is less a site and more just a single image). all i really care about is the content.
at this stage roller-coaster has the edge so i visit it. i honestly think that anyone that supports dn is either crazy or seeing something I don't, because i really dont get why a site which has existed for like a month out of the 2 or 3 years of endless promises would have any fans.
I know both of them. So I do feel very qualified to rate them against each other.

When there 'tourist revlution' or whatever the fuk it was website was realeased r-c.com.au still had 3 times the info and was about 100 times for easier to navigate, plus dn forums are boring. Even Ozcoaster's forum is better and thats saying something. ( we all know we go to Ozcoaster for awsome updates not the forum...) Ben Roach is trying to controversial and make a name for himself as being a big feerless man with this stunt, well its worked cause I think he is a wanker.

what i dont get is, why does all of dreamnova have to be shut whenever he wants to update it? r-c.com.au is up to like its 3rd or 4th version and i dont remeber it ever being shut to do this.
anyone notice that during the times dreamnova has been open (rare) the forum skins/graphics have changed like 10 times, maybe if he spent more time coding the website and less time on tryhard graphics things would be faster.
instead of trying to run a thrillsite, he could make money designing splash screens for companies for when their websites crash ;-)
maybe because everything is in a constant state of flux so to avoid problems, it's easier to take the site down entirely.

Because this has turned into a website bashing commenting thing, I like websites that try to do something different than the others out there. I like ThrillHistory.com, they try to do something real good there, and I commend them, especially their "History in Maps" feature.
If you also want my 3 cents, I reckon Ben is much more likable and nicer than Wanker, oops I mean Richard, and don't get me started on Tony TOOLan.
the history in maps thing is pretty cool... but the maps are just stolen from old DW and SW fansites without any sort of credit to the people who put them on the internet in the first place.
i dont mine thrill history but it's becoming exactly the same as rc and losing its history focus which is a shame.
this is how i see it:
-thrill history is good for old photos and stuff like wonderland info.
-rc is good for news, photos, info and (when they do them) construction updates. also has the best forums by far, tho i dont post that often
-ozcoaster is good for its photos and mw updates.
i personally think that after these 3... especially the last 2 there is much need for other sites, especially if they have nothing new to offer and are just gonna copy ideas.
it also doesnt matter to me who runs it or who's a bigger wanker than who... rofl as i said earlier i'm here for theme park info, not a life partner.
Seems as though this bad publicity about Dreamnova just being a poor copy of R-C.com.au has gone to Ben's head. The rumor is that Dreamnova is infact cancelled and a new project an Australian theme park review rip-off is on the cards..

The good thing about the Park Maps for History in Maps is you really don't need to credit where they come from because it really isn't official work from the parks.
But I do hear what your saying about some of the maps coming from old fan sites, but I don't have a problem with that.
I have seen a few of the Sea World maps and the Wonderland Maps which are pretty unique.

my issue really is that the people who spent the time and made the effort to keep old maps, scan them, upload them etc have been totally ignored by thrill history.
i totally understand that under copyright laws these old fansite webmasters haven't got any rights to the maps - it all belongs to the parks. but that's not to say that they shouldn't be credited. it's about fairness. i wonder if the original webmasters were even contacted to ask (just as the nice thing to do) if their pics could be reused.
Being the person who wrote that article I find some of the comments above funny but most are just petty. Seriously what does the site owner being a nice person have to do with the price of eggs in Mongolia?
