Enthusiast Receives SMS, Celebrates

When coaster enthusiast Braden Packer received a text message on his mobile phone last night, his brothers, sisters and parents alike were all shocked. Packer, 19, says the message signifies the progressive awakening of his social life, and is “extremely happy” to have finally received his first SMS.

“When I got my phone two years ago, I thought I would be getting messages all the time,” told an over-excited Packer. “You know - from my friends and all. It was about a year ago when I actually grasped the fact that I don’t have any friends to receive messages from”.

But Packer’s unfortunate streak of cellular desolation ended last night, when he was the proud recipient of his first ever text message.

“I was just so excited when I heard that message tone beep for the first time - that is, besides the times I would play the message tone myself in the ringtone menu. In fact, I was so excited that I ran down to my local McDonalds and celebrated with an M&Ms McFlurry, before jumping onto the forums and telling my coaster buddies the news. How cool am I?”

Packer’s parents were also shocked at the news that their aberrant son has received an SMS. Said Packer’s father: “It’s pretty f*ckin’ amazing isn’t it? I mean, that someone would want to send a message to a p*ssy arsed loser like Braden. I just hope he doesn't reply to that f*ckin’ SMS; I’m stuck with the bill.”

Unfortunately, no one has had the courage to inform Packer that the message is from mobile service provider Telstra and is intended to notify him of the fact that he’s exceeded his monthly cap due to excessive mobile pornography downloads.

I love the irony in posting on a site you don't like.

Again, R-C anyone? This is such gold. R-c's filled with fuckwits, and more fuckwits.

^ That may be so, but that's still 900-odd more members than any other site. Makes for more interesting discussion don't you think?

Since we all seem to be site bashing over here, I think the AAL author should write up an article on how gay DreamNova sounds. I'm guessing that "Dream" would have some relation to Dreamworld, and "Nova" taken from Supernova, a massive explosion (death) of a star. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Rev 2's release in 18 months time. The wait for a new font and background image will certainly be worth it.

lol "taking your time"?

i dont know what's so ungrateful about bagging a site because of continued delays. ungrateful implies people actually owe you something, when they clearly don't. it's just a stupid website...

if anything you dn people are ungrateful for never delivering and constantly underestimating the intelligence of the readers by never actually delivering.

haha, gotta love the old "social life" excuse. that one always gets pulled out right about now.

how come thousands of other sites out there can remain functional while their owners maintain a social life? and i'm not talking nerds... i'm talking perfectly functional people with active lives who find time to work a real job, run a website and still enjoy an outgoing lifestyle.

all these excuses are funny because at the end of the day no one really cares. if you have a functioning site then good, i'm sure people will go. but no one really wants to be jerked around with excuse after excuse... they'll just find somewhere else that does deliver what they want.

lol i find it funny that i post here more than i do on other coaster sites... it really says something about the state of this whole community if it's more fun to bitch than it is to talk parks.

Tony, maybe you should stop using morse code as your internet connection, that way you will be able to log in quicker.

Hey, that wasn't me that even posted! I haven't even been home tonight. I'm no longer responding to AAL articles & someone is imping me. I'm only replying to this one because of seeing the imp post.

You will NOT see me sign this AAL board anymore because I'm all about getting the site done and not offering excuses.

All of you, read that post again and you'll see it was blatantly a joke post aimed at me - don't you have any common sense at all? Talk about stupid.

Actually, clicking on Tony's (the fake tony) name above gives a link to DN, so it probably wasn't him.
